Trade Unions and Professional Organizations in Türkiye Condemn Attacks on Venezuela
DİSK, KESK, TMMOB and TTB issued a joint press statement regarding the US attacks against Venezuela.
WE CONDEMN THE US ATTACKS AGAINST VENEZUELA!
The attacks launched against the people of Venezuela must end immediately.
The principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations (UN), including the protection of international peace and security, respect for human rights, the ensuring of humanitarian assistance, and the supremacy of international law, are being openly disregarded. The UN and the international community must not remain silent in the face of these unlawful acts and imperialist interventions. They must take a clear and resolute stand.
Wars and military interventions serve not the peoples of the world but the interests of capital and imperialist powers. The US attacks against Venezuela will bring death, poverty, exploitation, blood and tears to the Venezuelan people. The rights to health, shelter, adequate nutrition and a life in dignity will be systematically eroded under conditions of war.
As in any wars and conflicts ongoing across the world, these imperialist and predatory attacks enable war profiteers, arms monopolies and multinational capital to expand their fortunes while workers and peoples pay the price. The destruction and plunder created by this order will lead to more poverty and death on societies.
We defend peace against war, life against death, and freedom against subjugation.
We declare our solidarity with the people of Venezuela and affirm that we will continue our struggle for peace and democracy.
