We, as labour and profession organizations, wanted to say stop to the chaotic and militarist atmosphere to which our country was dragged. We wanted to cry loud for peace in the capital of our country.
We, as labour and profession organizations, called for a meeting to scatter war climate and clouds, to protect our self existence conditions, to set direct contact between rights of labour and peace.
What else we could do?
No one can expect from us only to watch the country which was as a fireplace from a distant point.
We undertook responsibility.
When a loud peace call would be coming from Ankara, this intention was bombed.
On 10.10.2015, the biggest massacre during Republic was made in capitol Ankara.
Labour-Peace-Democracy meeting which was held with invitation of four labour and professional organizations was the target of bomb attack. We lost many of our friends, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, sons, daughters. Many of our friends are under medical treatment in hospitals. Our hearts are being torn off.
Although six days have passed since the incident, Prime Ministry did not still officially announce the names of our losses. We request from the Government to stop this scandal and declare the names of all people who lost their lives in this massacre as soon as possible to public opinion..
We want to remind all members of media and public opinion one issue. We did not lose about hundred of our friends in a square they randomly selected. We lost them in an assault that took place at a square where they came together to Labour-Peace-Democracy meeting
The target of assaulters is clear. Target is labour. Target is peace. Target is democracy!
For us, the name of this square, where ten thousands of people from all around of Turkey, Turks, Kurds, members of different religious casts, women and men, young and old, came together, embraced each other, danced folk dances all together and cried for labor-peace-democracy against those who draw Turkey into a bloody course to extend their reign, will be “Labour-Peace-Democracy Square”, from now on.
As it is known, the meeting was organized by DİSK, Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey, KESK, Confederation of Public Employees, TMMOB, Union of Turkish Chambers Of Engineers and Architects and TTB, Turkish Medical Association.
-These four labour and profession organizations are organizations struggling against unsecure, slavish, deadly work conditions.
– These four labour and profession organizations are an inseparable part of struggle against capital which ravens nature and cities while enslaving labour.
– These four labour and profession organizations have principles which defend life against death, peace against war, fraternity against hostility, equality against all kinds of discrimination and they don’t permit ethnical, religious, sectarian, gender discrimination.
– These four labour and profession organizations, starting from the day they have been established have not evaded from their social responsibilities and never bow down in front of oppression system which only promises slavery, death and plunder. This is why they are targeted by assaulters, massacre planners.
We are asking who will be disturbed from the increasing, echoing peace demands. Are we looking for the suspects? Who attacked us? Not only people of Turkey, but all of the people of the world knows who are the actual convicts. Declaring the names of bombers is only repeating known facts.
We took initiative a peace supporters in midst of war and we were forced to pay for this decision.
We will not keep quiet, give-up and retreat.
After 10.04 AM on 10.10.2015, every minute whilst we can continue breathing, shows what kind of country is promised by those who are in power.
– While there was not even one single police at gathering point before the bombs blasted, after the blasts, dozens of police attacked with support of attack trucks and many people who were injured, died due to gas bombs of police. First aid to injured people was prevented with gas bombs.
-The ambulances arrived very late.
Everyone, starting from those making announcement for blood donations, to ones who carry the injured persons were shown as targets.
– After the blasting of bombs, media fed by government and supporting government and government supporters in internet who are named as Ak-Troll launched a big disinformation campaign where, our organizations and directors have been accused and shown as targets by government speakers, members of parliament, media and internet pirates supporting government. The assault was tried to be linked to irrelevant organizations, young people who were playing folk dances were accused of being bomb decoders and almost people who lost their lives were accused.
– People of Turkey will never forget Prime Minister’s irresponsible speeches showing in whose hands the security of 80 million living in Turkey is. Prime Minister had even claimed that the suicide bomber who blasted himself in Suruç was caught and delivered to justice. Prime Minister of this country could say; “We have the list of suicide bombers but we cannot arrest them before they do an action.” While our friends who attend mourn and memorial ceremonies were taken under preventive custody with “reasonable doubt” claim, suicide bombers who are followed by police were not arrested before they blasted the bombs. According to explanation of Prime Minister, there are “suicide bombers” in Turkey whose identities and locations are known but “not caught” by government. This is a scandal and illegal political attitude. Such an attitude is a threat to all opponents.
-Prime Minister and minister of Interior should reply our below questions:
Is it true that a warning saying that “a bomb attack “ will be made to Labour-Peace-Democracy meeting was received three days before the Meeting? Were the identities of convicts who took a part in this assault were also notified? Why Meeting Organization Committee was not informed about such a severe warning? Why those who ban many of our meetings such as May 1,Labor Day have not taken any precautions against such a bloody attack?
Our mourning ceremonies have been prohibited, our funerals were not delivered. Starting from leaving flowers to exact location where bombs were blasted, up to several memorial ceremonies, many meetings met police blockage. There were investigations against funerals and oppression on workers who declared “We are mourning and protesting” and participated in General Strike.
Censor is applied on social media first then on mass media.
Despite whatever they do, truth cannot be hidden
We will continue to tell the realities of country all around the country..We will underline that the Prime Minister is telling the reality in a sense about not catching and in Ankara massacre; bombers were not caught although their names were identified. Everyone knows that despite the names of convicts who made this assault were identified, written in newspapers and reports of political parties; they were let to organize a massacre at a location near to National Intelligence Organization and Ankara Police Department. Since Reyhanlı, Roboski, Diyarbakır and Suruç massacres were covered up, we will speak about this massacre everywhere. We will remind the connections of persons who were linked to Ankara Massacre and expose those who rejected our Parliament Survey request.
We will continue to tell the bitter truth. We will continue our struggle for not permitting cover up October 10 event and to hide in old dusty tunnels. Despite its risks, we will not retreat from our struggle for labour, peace and democracy
We, as four labour and profession organizations, along with all friendly organizations will come together, shoulder to shoulder for the memory and struggle of our friends.
We are once more addressing all of our people. This government only promises war, death, oppression and cruelty. To say stop is in your hands.
We are mourning, protesting and will not let things to be forgotten.
